Capacity Building to Strengthen Sustainable Implementation of Renewable Energy Technologies for Rural Energy Access

Methodology

  • Conduct needs assessment and pre-implementation surveys in all 4 countries to determine project target locations, training needs and setup baselines
  • Develop 10 training modules in Green Economy and Renewable Energy, customized and translated for four countries (Fiji, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, PNG). Available for free to download on this website. Trainer Guides (English HERE), Learners Workbook (translated HERE)
  • Conduct pilot community trainings in each of the four countries to seek feedback to further fine tune and finalize the training modules
  • Apply the Train-the-trainer approach to train ~8 trainers in each country
  • Goal to train 3000 people in remote rural communities in all countries (~750 people per country), while targeting 40% Women and 20% Vulnerable groups participation
  • Target 70% or more of participants to agree that their knowledge on GE and RE has increased post training
