Intended Activities

This is a summary of activities and is not an exhaustive list.

  • Kick-off meetings and planning with national counterparts and finalization of target groups: local governments / communities /
  • Pre-implementation surveys and needs assessments
  • Review of existing training materials on GE and RE principles and concepts and development of new materials where needed
  • Review of existing O&M for solar and micro-hydro and financial management training materials and development of new materials where needed
  • Suitable training materials and processes developed, including in local language (translation)
  • Pilot training of trainers to deliver training and integrate feedback on material and processes into training package
  • Carry out all training of local trainers to deliver training in local areas and in local language
  • Training of traditional/community leaders and local government officials (separate and joint training sessions as appropriate)
  • Training delivered locally in rural locations for women and vulnerable groups
  • Training to community committees
  • Training to local technicians
  • Knowledge management and development of communications materials, including web-based platform for sharing all the knowledge, experience and lessons learnt generating during the project.

There will also be regional workshop activities to launch the project (year 1) , in year two to disseminate information and progress and in year three to disseminate lessons learnt and results. The workshops will be coordinated with the other components of the overall regional project.
